Changing the lives of survivors and volunteers worldwide
Volunteer in the Philippines
![]()
Volunteering with EDV is challenging, fun, and rewarding! Whether you’re using volunteering as a step on the way to finding work overseas, taking a year out, or just want to have a fantastic experience EDV is a great choice for you. In fact, there are so many great reasons to volunteer with EDV that we gave them their very own page which you can check out here.
While you’re with us in the Philippines, you’ll work in partnership with a local people's organisation called Buklod Tao to help the community of Banaba prepare for future floods.
Depending on your skills and interest, your work overseas with EDV could help build a three-story evacuation and livelihoods centre, work with youth leaders to organise environmental awareness events, or help Buklod Tao market locally made recycled products. To get an idea of our work in the Philippines, please check out our Philippines web page. You can also check out photos of our projects here.
Because our needs are always evolving, we can’t confirm placements more than 12 weeks in advance. If you’d like to volunteer further in the future, please sign up for our Philippines mailing list. If you’re interested in volunteering in the next 12 weeks, please follow the steps defined below.
Step 1: Do your research!
Please read:
We know it’s a lot of reading, but these documents will provide you with important information about what it is like to volunteer in the Philippines, the risks you might face, and what will be expected of you as a member of the EDV team. This information will help you make the decision as to whether or not volunteering in the Philippines might be for you.
Step 2: Register!
After you’ve reviewed all of the documents listed above please register your details here. We’ll review your registration and be in touch within a few days!
Step 3: Confirm your Placement
Once you’ve registered, our volunteer coordinator will provide you with further information about joining us. You’ll then work with our Volunteer Coordinator to answer any questions you might have, discuss your insurance needs, confirm what dates are available for your placement, and gather the information we need to ensure that you’ll be able to make the greatest possible impact during your time with EDV. Once our Volunteer Coordinator has all the information she needs, she’ll work with the rest of our management team in the Philippines to confirm your placement.
We’ll be here every step of the way to answer your questions, take you through the ins and outs of getting ready to volunteer with us, and address any concerns you might have. Don’t ever hesitate to send an email to Volunteer.PH@EDVolunteers.org - the only stupid question is the one you didn’t ask!
Volunteer from Home
We are looking for volunteers to help us fundraise for our on-going work in Haiti as well as our deployment in the Philippines. If you’re interested in one of these at home positions, please contact us.
